Full Support for IPv6 in JPNAP Services
INTERNET MULTIFEED CO. ("MF"; Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Koichi Suzuki) announced today that from April 1, 2008 the company, who has been supporting IPv6 addresses in its JPNAP services on a trial basis since 2002, will officially start providing "IPv6 address support" as a standard feature of JPNAP services prior to other IX providers, due to the issues concerning the depletion of IPv4 addresses and to expectations that growing numbers of Internet service providers will be supporting IPv6 as IPv6-compliant network devices become more widespread.
JPNAP service customers herewith are able to select "IPv4 native," "IPv6 native," or "IPv4/IPv6 Dual Stack" that supports the IPv4/IPv6 dual stacking environment [1] depending on their network environment.
In accordance with the full support for IPv6 addresses, MF plans to terminate the "JPNAP6 (Trial)" service that supports the IPv6 native environment [2] in March 2010.
MF is committed to playing a pioneering role in continued growth of the Internet, providing services that support this growth and that contribute to improving the reliability of vital public infrastructure.
