INTERNET MULTIFEED CO. Launches Time Information Public Service

INTERNET MULTIFEED CO. (MFEED; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Koichi Suzuki) announced today the full-scale launch of IPv4/IPv6 supported "INTERNET MULTIFEED Time Information Public Service" will begin March 31, 2005. MFEED has offered the service on a trial basis since April in 2001[1] in cooperation with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), that provides Japan Standard Time "NTP Service"[2], Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Co. (NTT) and Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ). Based on know-how and operating technologies acquired from the trial, MFEED provides highly accurate time information as a free public service to contribute to development of a variety of activities on the Internet. MFEED is committed to playing a pioneering role in continued growth of the Internet, providing services that support this growth and that contribute to improving the reliability of vital public infrastructure.

INTERNET MULTIFEED CO. was established in September, 1997, funded by Japan's leading ISPs and Internet content providers. As a pioneer of Internet Data Center (iDC) services in Japan, the company is a leading promoter of content distribution over the Internet. Its IX service "JPNAP" is the first commercial interexchange in Japan to provide 10 Gbps interface support, and forms an important part of the infrastructure on which the Internet has been able to enjoy rapid, sound growth into the broadband era.
