Launch of JPNAP 10G Full Commercial Service

TOKYO -- INTERNET MULTIFEED CO. (MFEED; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koichi Suzuki) is pleased to announce the full-scale launch of its JPNAP 10G service starting April 1, as the first Internet IX service in Japan to offer 10 Gbps interface on a commercial basis.

MFEED began offering JPNAP 10G service on a trial basis in January of this year, responding to the explosive growth in high-speed, large-volume traffic with the dawning of the broadband era. JPNAP 10G service greatly enhances the ability to handle this traffic stably and efficiently. Leading ISPs IIJ and OCN joined with MFEED during the trial service to test and verify network quality, while building up the necessary operations know-how. Among the providers planning to make use of the 10G commercial service are @nifty/FENICS, BIGLOBE, IIJ, InfoSphere, InterVia/DreamNet, OCN, and Softbank BB. JPNAP service is provided from two connection points in Tokyo (NTT Otemachi Building and Tokyo Sankei Building). Customers can choose either of the connection points, obtaining identical services for the same rates at either location.
