MF Starts Providing JPNAP Osaka "PI/CUG Service"

TOKYO, JAPAN - INTERNET MULTIFEED CO. ("MF"; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koichi Suzuki) announced today that it is starting full JPNAP Osaka PI/CUG Service on June 1, with the cooperation of NTT SMARTCONNECT CORPORATION ("NTTSMC"; Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Mitsuyoshi Okamoto). MF has been providing JPNAP Osaka PI/CUG Service on a trial basis since March 2007. The PI (Private Interconnect) / CUG (Closed Users Group) Service is a service capable for realizing redundancy with the existing JPNAP Osaka distributed Internet exchange (IX) service. The PI/CUG Service utilizes VLAN (Virtual LAN) [2] technology to enable secure, private traffic exchange between two or more designated members in a logical space that is virtually separated from the existing public JPNAP Osaka Service, and meets the diverse needs for customers of the JPNAP Osaka Service.

MF has also provided the full-scale "PI/CUG Service" as the JPNAP additional service since October 2006 in Tokyo.

1. Service Overview

The PI/CUG Service, a service that is in addition to the JPNAP Osaka Service being provided in Dojima, Kita-ku, Osaka, utilizes VLAN technology to let customers use PI or CUG service within the JPNAP Osaka Service. The PI service is used for direct connections between two parties, and the CUG service enables traffic exchanges among three or more parties.

2. Service Menu

The PI/CUG Service is available in two types: a "Port Type" that lets customers use one port for one PI/CUG (VLAN), and a "Tag Type" that lets customers use one port for multiple PI/CUGs.

3. Application Terms

The PI/CUG Service is for customers of the JPNAP Osaka Service (current JPNAP Osaka service segment). Terms and Conditions of the JPNAP Osaka service are here (http://www.mfeed.co.jp/english/jpnap-osaka/basic.html).

6. Service Fees (for the additional service)

NOTE:
In the case of the Tag type, the JPNAP Osaka segment is not included in the number of VLANs. However, in the Tag type, if an existing port is used to make a connection only to the JPNAP Osaka segment, only the initial fee will be charged.

(2) CUG Service
MF charges designated fees for both the Port and Tag types based on the customer's particular application of use.
